Forker and Nguyen awarded fellowships

Two students in the doctoral program in the Department of Biochemistry have been awarded graduate fellowships from the Duke University Graduate School. 
 

Karly Forker, a PhD student in the lab of Pei Zhou, PhD, has been awarded the Paul and Lauren Ghaffari Graduate Fellowship. The award provides stipend supplements for doctoral students who are pursuing studies related to oncology. 
 

Bach Nguyen, a fifth-year PhD candidate in the lab of Ken Yokoyama, PhD, has been awarded the Katherine Goodman Stern Fellowship. This competitive fellowship provides an annual stipend as well as coverage of tuition and mandatory fees to advanced PhD students who are in the write-up stage of their dissertations.
