The Gibbons lab sits at the intersection of systems biology and microbial ecology. We develop computational and wet-lab tools for exploring and manipulating host-microbe ecosystems. Currently, we are interested in designing a mechanistic modeling platform that enables precision nutrition and personalized healthcare interventions that leverage the metabolic output of the human gut microbiome.
