Qualified applicants will
have strong undergraduate training in the chemical and/or biological sciences.
Scores on the Graduate Record Examination General Test are required and it is
strongly recommended that scores on a Subject Test in Biology, Chemistry, or
Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology be submitted. The application,
complete with the letters of recommendation and transcripts, should be
submitted before the end of December (Please consult the Graduate School for
application deadlines:
http://gradschool.duke.edu/admissions/deadlines/index.php).
Official GRE & TOEFL scores
may be submitted later if they are not yet available; however, we should
receive them as soon as possible. All applications are reviewed by the
Biochemistry Admission’s Committee, which is composed of departmental faculty
members.
Students applying to the
department can indicate a desire to participate in a University Program such as
Structural Biochemistry & Biophysics (SBB), Cell and Molecular Biology
(CMB) or Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (CBB) (See Link Below). Alternatively, a
student can directly apply to one of these programs and request affiliation
with the Department of Biochemistry.
