Content Management Quick How-Tos
All of these assume that you have an account to the content management system, and have logged into www.biochem.duke.edu/admin.
Edit the sidebar on a faculty page
- Click on the pages tab
- Expand “Faculty” to find your page
- Click on the “sidebar” tab next to the “Body” tab
- Edit the sidebar as you see fit
Edit information found on the main faculty page
- Click on the “Faculty” tab next to “Layouts”
- Find your name and edit the information
Note: This information may not show up on your personal page, depending on whether the page is customized or not. If you find that you have made a change that isn’t reflected in your own faculty page, go to edit your own page and see if the information is correct.
Add or fix a link to search pubmed for your publications
- Go to PubMed and search for your publications as you wish the link to work. (We don’t use a standard search because some people use middle initials, have changed names, and so forth).
- Once you are happy with the search results, copy the URL in the browser. For example, a basic search for Michael Been would look like this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?dispmax=20&db=PubMed&cmd=Search&term=Been%20MD.&doptcmdl=DocSum
- Log into the content management system.
- Click on the “Pages” tab.
- Expand “Faculty” page to find your own page.
- Click on your page to edit it.
- Scroll down below the publications title (“Selected Publications” on most pages)
- Paste the URL you copied on a new line. Before the URL, put “Search Pubmed”: with the quotes and the colon included. This will make a link.
- Click on “Save and Continue Editing”
- In another tab, view your page to make sure the change worked.
